The extent to which you allow the presence of Jesus to dwell in your heart, mind and actions will be basis of the extent to which how God will determine your eternity.
Presence of Jesus and eternity
He made the sun
God made the sun, the star in our solar system, which gives us light by day.
Jeremiah 31
35 Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day … -kjv
35 Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day, … -nkjv
35 This is what the Lord says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, … -niv
35 This is what the Lord says: The One who gives the sun for light by day, … – hcsb
The earth is situated in the solar system at just the right location with respect to the sun to receive enough sunlight to sustain life, not too far so that it is too cold and not too near so that it is too hot.

The work of God
Belief in Jesus is the work of the Holy Spirit as in John 6:29
John 6
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. -kjv
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” -nkjv
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” -niv
29 Jesus replied, “This is the work of God—that you believe in the One He has sent.” -hcsb
In preaching the gospel to non-believers, we need to be sensitive to the work of God, love them and be consistent and faithful ourselves.

A good government wields the sword for its people
Criterion: The government needs to be a good government
The government is given the right to kill to protect its people from evil as in:
Romans 13
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. -kjv
4 For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil -nkjv
4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. -niv
4 For government is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For government is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong. -hcsb

Given the title Lord
Jesus was given the title Lord by God the Father as shown in:
Acts 2
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. -kjv
36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” -nkjv
36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” -niv
36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah!” -hcsb
Desire God, not His blessings
If you are a christian, I am sure you will have seen how God has blessed other faithful christians around you in their lives. God is so good that sometimes even when you don’t ask for it, God will still bless you as in the case of 1 Kings 3:13. A warning, desire God’s presence but not his blessings. I have seen in my own heart that sometimes there is a desiring of God’s blessings rather than His presence. Desire Jesus and let things flow, whether it be blessings or persecutions.

Not redeemed
Just learned that angels are not redeemed by the blood of Christ, unlike the human race.
Hebrews 2
16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. -kjv
16 For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. -nkjv
16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants. -niv
16 For it is clear that He does not reach out to help angels, but to help Abraham’s offspring. -hcsb
Paradise is not on earth
Ever since sin has come into this world when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, this world is broken. We need to remind ourselves that there is no paradise on this earth, lest we put too much hope living on this earth.
Colossians 3
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. -kjv
2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. -nkjv
2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. -niv

When a believer dies
Luke 16:22
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; -kjv
22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. -nkjv
22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. -niv
Meditations:
1) In this account, the beggar Lazarus died and was carried to Jesus’s presence. Abraham’s bosom is another term of being in the presence of Jesus or heaven.
2) The angels carried Lazarus to the presence of Jesus. In a similar way, when we die, we entrust our soul to be carried to Jesus’s presence by the angels. We do not need to know the way to heaven, the angels will carry our soul there.
3) Cross reference to 2 Corinthians 5:8:
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. -kjv
When we are absent from the body, we will be present with the Lord.
Jesus wept
John 11:35
Jesus wept. -kjv
Lazarus was dead and Jesus wept. My reaction was: if Lazarus was born again, shouldn’t Jesus rejoice because Lazarus will be in heaven and will be with him in spirit.
Another scripture:
Romans 12:15
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. -kjv
This verse reminds me that we ought to put our feet in the shoes of those who suffered the death of their close ones. My reaction was self righteous. Jesus did the right thing. After all, we humans are still living on this earth.
I guess if we are not close to the family of the one who passed away, at best we should remain silent.
