1The following were the men who came to David at Ziklag while he was still banned from the presence of Saul son of Kish. They were among the warriors who helped him in battle.

32 From the Issacharites, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do: 200 chiefs with all their relatives under their command.  -hcsb

Observations:

The men of Issachar knew the times and supported David to be the next king

Application:

How does that apply to us christians now?

  1. Times & years are always quickly changing. The thoughts of people also do change as do their beliefs and practices. Men of today know people who will be the best leaders. Men are known by their practices, their words and their past deeds. The wise and Christian Men know who would be their best and more productive leader therefore and encourage others to follow their pick. As Issachar knew David and recommend him so many years ago perhaps we should follow in
his path and promote the best man or men especially Christian men to be leaders of our land.
