Just reminded of this fact over the radio, some people derive their passion from past hurts.
My thought about passion: A passion could be developed if the person is serving a greater purpose.
Question: What are the other ways passion about something could be derived?
If a person is serving passion even in a small amount is he or she really serving God? Our human minds work in complicated strange ways so we better keep in mind what our minds are thinking about or serving.

Agree with you that God/Jesus has to take first place in our heart. But people who are vocationally occupied will need to have at least some interest in their vocation or else they will feel miserable because vocation is where they spend most of their time.

God help us to develop a heart that is
(1) passionate about what God is passionate about — people,
(2) be angry about what God is angry about — sin, and
(3) be broken about what God is broken about — waywardness of loved ones.

Yes my friend, for the christian, it is simply to be passionate about being “Christ-like”
