Question:

The Jewish people believed that God was in the temple and the bible also teaches that the priests were constantly purified going into the holiest of holiest places and could die versus Babylonians and later Romans later walked into the temple and they trampled the temple and destroyed it and sold the temple relics and nothing happened to them. They were not confronted by the Spirit of God or killed or destroyed by doing something like that in a place that was so sacred.

Answer from Dr Michael Rydelnik:

One of the things we have to do is actually read what the text of scriptures say  happened before the Babylonians came in. One of the things that it says in the book of Ezekiel, it speaks of how the Spirit of God left the temple area. The point of it is in Ezekiel, it speaks of the Spirit of God raising up, going up above it and leaving east and going towards the Mount of Olives. After the Spirit of God left the temple, it returns only in the Messianic temple of the kingdom, what Ezekiel 43 talks about.
