Jesus, in answering the Pharisee about their question, emphasized that marriage is between a man and a woman in Matthew 19:4-5

Matthew 19:

⁴ And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

⁵ And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?  -kjv

⁴ And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’  ⁵ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?  -nkjv

⁴ “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ ⁵ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?  -niv
